Can QTP create repository while running a script? - el nino - 05-09-2011

Hi,
Can QTP create repositories while running scripts?
I mean, If I have no .TSR file but scripts with me, Will I be able to run those scripts? Will then QTP create the .TSR during run of scripts?

NO, QTP will not create .tsr file while running the scripts. You should have relevant .tsr file to run yours script. This is the basic concept of QTP.

You can run in maintenance/update mode to change the object in .tsr file with the reference to the current application. Means, if your application objects property changes due to some development, you can update your already existing OR by running script in maintenance mode.

Thanks Jay. That helps.
I am in a situation where I have only scripts and no .tsr file. From what I have learned from your reply is that I can't use the scripts now unless I have a relevant .tsr file.

Another doubt is can I copy someone's tsr and modify it manually? I do not have QTP installed and hence the problem.
