UFT12.0 does not recognize 64 bit ActiveX components - satishsundar_KT - 05-07-2014

I am running UFT12.0 on Windows 7 (X64) OS. My UAT is a windows application with custom built FarPointGrid (ActiveX object). The Problem I face is, UFT could not identify activeX objects of 64 bit version of the application, while activeX objects of the same app for 32 bit has no problem in identification.

I guess Since ProgID for the object is read from registry, by default it looks from its native registry i.e Wow6432Node. Has anyone encountered the same problem and resolved it?

Highly appreciate your inputs.

I know the post is very old, just adding my finding to resolve this issue if anyone opens this link. Make sure you have installed UFT samples as well along with ActiveX, it resolved the similar issue I faced (ActiveX component can't create object: 'Mercury.Clipboard').
