Keyword Driven Framework in QTP

I have seen that most of the companies create keyword driven framework using action sequence and driver scripts etc. My question here is, why can't I customize QTP keyword view to do whatever is required in the keyword driven framework. What kind of challenges are faced if I use my approach for automation.
