Hi,

Everything is perfect.

Make sure that you start QTP before you start the application i.e

open QTP first and then open the browser and record your script.

And also make sure you are recording on IE. If you record on other browsers it doesnt generate the script, where as we can run the recorded script(in IE) into any other browser(mozilla or netscape).

Let me know if you need any further information.

Thanks & Regards,
Uday.

[hai Uday,

I did the same thing which you told. But i was not generating any script.

I am not using any other browsers, i am using IE only.
Frist i opened QTP-->click on Record-->open IE--> tried to login to yahoomail --> and log out.

It was generating the script onlu for opening the browser and for closing the browser, for the remaining things(login, sigh out) it was not generating any script.

Thank you
Sri

Hi,

Please post your generated script. we may identify the problem.

If all the settings are fine, then QTP definitely generates the script.

Thanks & Regards,
Uday.

can you check whether u have properties set for browser / page
You can check this by going to

tools > object identification > environment = web > check mandatory properties for browser and page
if nothing is there add some properties as name, title, url,.. and try recording.

If above things didnt work, try recording by giving the url in record and run settings.
