What is webedit?

I am going through the QTP Tutorial. Is webedit an object class type? If so, what does an object class type mean? Could you give me other examples that fall under Webedit object class type?

Pls bear with my basic questions as I am new to this..

A web edit is an edit box, usually contained inside a form.

[QTPLearn]

'WebEdit' is a object class type for Edit box or TextBox.

Class Type is use to categorise the objects. For ex: In our daily life we categorize ourselfs on the basis of gender.

UserName,Password these are few examples which fall under WebEdit Object Class Type.
