use selection object for this like SelectionObject.Font.Name

e.g
Code:
Set objWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
Set objDoc = objWord.Documents.Add()
Set objSelection = objWord.Selection
Print objSelection.Font.Name
Print objSelection.Font.Size
