Object Spy not able to recongnize object based on mouse pointer
#1
Solved: 10 Years, 9 Months, 1 Week ago Sad
Hi guys,

I have used QTP10 for a while, I never have problem with object spy until now on this new machine.
I will try to explain this problem as best as I could.

When I try to identify a specific object on IE8 webpage ( such as buttons or text input boxes ) and move my mouse cursor to that button/input box, Object Spy displays another object's properties instead that button/input box. It feels like that object spy doesn't interpret elements on page as human eye does. For example, I move cursor to a blank space on webpage, object spy could detect a webedit or other elements there. I am not able to identify any objects correctly by moving mouse cursor on top of objects. I have to move my mouse cursor all over the page to look for specific object. It makes no sense to use object spy anymore.

I tried many ways including following but no success.

Re-install QTP10, delete registry files Re-install IE8, reboot machine
One of my coworkers has this problem as well, but he was able to resolve it by reboot his machine.

Anyone has idea what should do to fix this?
Any help is appreciated!

Tony
