Is it necessary to know oop concept fot test engineer, i.e can we write scripts and test application, even without knowing oops. If yes to what extent.

Do the interviewer ask questions in oop.

Hi Kiran,

If you are talking about automation, then yes oop can be related to it in terms of code reusability, encapsulation etc.
Specifically for QTP, you will get more questions on vbScript.
