Difference between "Insert text output" and "Insert output value"
#1
Solved: 10 Years, 9 Months ago
Hi All,

I have just started using QTP for a sample app and am not able to understand the difference between "Insert text output" and "Insert output value".

Both of these options are displayed when on a web page a text is selected and rightclicked on the active window. Please check the attachment for the screenshot.

Thanks,
Umangi

An output value is a step in which one or more values are captured at a

specific point in your test or component and stored for the duration of the

run session. The values can later be used as input at a different point in the run session.
Text Output Value
You can also retrieve data from your
application and output it to the Data Table using output values.
This data can then be used at a later stage in the test. QuickTest displays the retrieved
data following the test run in the Runtime Data Table
