Our application UI would be still changing, but the functionality is same. I am new to QTP and want to find out if I can still automate my application for functionality testing like a non UI based application. Is it possible, if yes how and does anyone has experience in this?

It could be possible, but before we go ahead,let's try to understand your problem correctly, can you give more details like an example or an illustration?
