Details on QTP certification

This article on QTP certification is written by Testing Tools Forum member Sridhar. Thanks to him for collating all information needed for certification at one place.

QTP Certification comes under the heading of AIS Quality Center v9.2 and ASE Quality Center v9.2 . So one will get a certificate from HP only if you complete core exam and elective exam (Winrunner or QTP).

1)To register for the exam you need:
• The exam name and number (HP0-xxx)
• Your HP Student ID: Can be simply obtained by filling in your personal details using the following links

2)Your Prometric Testing ID : HP has partnered with a third party, Prometric to conduct certification exams. Prometric Id is a unique id assigned to you when you register for the exam. This id is also used to maintain your testing history with Prometric. Use the Following link

3)Method of payment : The accepted mode of payment is credit card (AMEX, MasterCard, or Visa) or by using a voucher number, or by promotional code. They do not accept payment by company or personal check.

AIS -HP Quality Center v9.2 :
To achieve this credential you need to pass 1 core exam and 1 elective exam.
1) Core Exam is “HP Quality Center 9.2 Software Exam”

Yes, you can only find the latest version on HP site. As of now the latest version available is 9.5.

Ya, just noticed that now they have only 10.0 available. Either use that or you can ask your sales rep for the 9.2 demo license.

If in case we don’t pass the first attempt I know we can take second attempt but what about the fee. Do we need to pay $150 again to take second attempt. I have a query, I have already passed HP0-M15, and HP0-M16 exams almost 8 month ago. However, I didnt get any hardcopy of certificate for this. Could you please guide me what do I need to do to get hardcopy of certificate?

HP is not sending hardcopy of the certificates to candidate’s mailing address now a days. You can download the certificates from portal. Below given is the steps to download your certificates:-

1. Log in to the portal and click on ‘Train and Certify’.

2. Under ‘Details’ tab click on ‘Certification program’.

3. To download the certificates you have to click on ‘My e-certificates’ under ‘For HP Certified Professionals only’ tab.

Hi Sridhar,
I have 5 yrs of testing experience including QTP.I took a break due to personal reasons.I prepared for the HP0-M16 QTP exam. However I did not receive the HP learner id since I did not mention company trading name. In my case, how do I get the learner-id to be able to give the test.Kindly help.
